Petition To President Barack Obama
To Stand In Defense Of Israel
Dear President Obama,
As God-fearing Americans, we believe there exists an ironclad bond between the State of Israel and the United States. We believe that
bond to be a moral imperative.
President Jimmy Carter has presented to you his plan for peace in the Holy Land. I do not support the Carter Plan; Israel is not to blame
for all the problems in the Middle East, and must not be pushed to give up more land-for-peace. Mr. Carter argues that "the road to a
peace agreement is now open and that it has broad international and regional support." Most of all, since there will be no progress without
courageous and sustained U.S. leadership he says "the time for progress is now." He believes that you, President Obama, "are committed
to a personal effort to exert that leadership, starting early in your administration."
Mr. President, the Carter Plan will weaken Israel. This tiny nation has continued to be America's strongest ally in the Middle East despite
repeated terror attacks. Rather than support Carter's plan to give East Jerusalem to radical Islamists, please recognize a united Jerusalem
as Israel's eternal capital and move the American Embassy there.
In the same spirit, we humbly appeal to you not succumb to the anti-Semitic voices of hostile Arab countries that refuse to recognize
Israel's right to exist; that call Jews descendants of monkeys and pigs. These same leaders are demanding that Israel continue to give
away land for an illusive offer of peace. Israel is a very reliable friend. We believe the Word of God, "I will bless them that bless thee, and
curse him that curses thee" (Genesis 12:1-3). To weaken Israel is to destabilize the Middle East and risk the peace of the world; for the road
to world peace runs through the Middle East. I am a God-fearing American who believes the entire Bible. I am also a proud American
who loves my country, and desires the blessings of God upon our nation.
Mr. President, we strongly oppose the Road Map and the Annapolis plan and the Shelf Agreement which calls for the recognition of a
PLO state with East Jerusalem as its capital. The PLO remains a terrorist organization that continues to support, finance, and promote
suicide attacks within the Bible land. It is responsible for the deaths of thousands of innocent civilians.
I do not support Carter's plan for Russia, the United Nations, the European Union, and the Arab League sacrificing Israel; I consider it an
act of appeasement to Arab rage. We believe the Bible that declares, "I will plant them in their land, and they will not be rooted out from their
land which I have given them, says the Lord" (Amos 9:14-15).
I believe the first action that must be taken is a rehabilitation package calling for the dismantling of the U.N.-maintained refugee camps.
The Palestinian Authority needs to be dissolved and absorbed into the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Jordan needs to be given economic
incentives to stabilize the Palestinian territory, including the formation of a police force, army, schools, infrastructure, and hospitals. The
Arab League and the world community need to provide resettlement, employment and housing for the refugees. This would be similar
to what happened to the Jewish refugees throughout Europe and the Arab world in 1948.
The Palestinians do not need more land; they need a life free of fanatical Islamic kindergarten camps that continue to instill hatred for the
Jews into children at an early age. They do not need to have the refugee dilemma fueled and fed by radical Islamists who use it as a
recruitment tool. Arab countries must be as willing to incorporate Palestinian refugees into their societies as Israel and America have
been doing.
Lastly, we must stop using the offer of East Jerusalem, the home of Christianity, as a capital for a Palestinian Islamic State to pacify Arab rage.
Mr. President, I humbly appeal to you not to jeopardize the security and the lives of the Jewish people, and the land of the Bible for the
sake of political expediency. Terrorists must not be rewarded. The Palestinian people are not terrorists. They deserve to have a peaceful
life. Islamic fanatics and terrorists have taken this from them.
We believe one of the reasons that America has been blessed over the years is because we have stood by Israel. The "Road Map Plan"
calls not only for the recognition of a PLO state, but for Israel to return all lands not in its possession prior to 1967 to the PLO. This includes
dividing Jerusalem, and placing virtually all Christian holy sites in the hands of Islamists, and all Christians in that territory under Islamic
rule of law. We strongly oppose this.
We pray according to II Chronicles 7:14 that God will bring revival to America, to the Jewish people and the nation of Israel, and revival
to the Arab people living in the Bible Land. However, it cannot come if we compromise moral principals and the Biblical values upon
which our nation was built.
"If my people which are called by my name will humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from
heaven, and will forgive their sins, and will heal their land" (II Chronicles 7:14).
